The end of the world does not come suddenly. It is much more
insidious.
500 years after the devastation of the Earth, two factions arise
from their underground cities. NORAD, militaristic, scientific,
paranoid. Salemites, occultists experimenting with the revival of
the dead. Both factions meet for the first time and instantly clash.
Earth Reborn is a highly realistic, scenario-based simulation game
which is rich in depth and possibilities. Although it may seem complex
at first glance, it is in fact quite simple and intuitive once you
have learned the basics. This book guides you step-by-step through
the process of mastering all of Earth Reborn’s secrets. It
serves as a rulebook, a tutorial and a scenario book all at once.
First, read the Core Rules common to all scenarios. Then put these
rules into practice with the first scenario. Move on to the next
set of rules and then to the second scenario, and so on to progressively
unleash Earth Reborn’s full potential. The rules are designed
in a modular fashion: each scenario selectively puts new rules into
play and allows you to practice with them before moving on to the
next level. Do not worry if you see icons or game elements that
you do not understand or that have not been explained yet: it just
means that you do not need them at this point. The corresponding
explanations will come later and be put to use in future scenarios.
When you reach the final scenario of this book, all that Earth Reborn
is will have been revealed to you!

Earth Reborn pre-painted minis for sale. Click here for all the info.

Below is a group shot of the miniatures that come
with the game. They will come stickered and on the base already
so no fussing with them - just read the core rules and play! The
miniatures will also be undercoated, making them ready to be painted.

Here's how to read the base.
Inner circle: the blue and gray pie slices reflect
the close combat effectiveness of the miniature (see the character
cards below). Miniatures fighting facing their dark blue arc will
do better than in their light blue arc which does better than their
gray arc. The dagger determines miniature facing: i.e. the tip of
the dagger is where the miniature is facing.
Outer circle: the red, orange and white arcs represent
the Arc of Sight. A miniature can shoot in the red and orange arcs
but cannot see anyone in its white arc. The red and orange arcs
also determine shooting efficacy - equipment cards will give the
stats for red and orange fire arcs.
IN GAME SHOT

Jack Saw
Faction: Salemites
Type: Zombie
Age: 45
Jack Saw is the reanimated cadaver of Jack Sawyer,
deceased in 487 p.a., who was buried under rubble during the restoration
of the old Salem city hall. The renovated building, now dedicated
to Jason F. Kendall, is currently being used by the Salemite High
Command.
Jack is reanimated within minutes of his death.
His mind still has vague recollections of his old job and the physical
tasks he used to perform. Jeff Deeler studies the reduced mental
activity of the freshly reanimated body, and detects signs of violent
tendencies, as well as a constant desire to work. He makes a proposal
to the S.S.C. to leverage this excess of energy and hate by turning
Jack Saw into a fighting and demolition machine. The S.S.C. approves
the project and grafts onto Saw's brain an advanced model of a neuronic
helmet. For his part, Jeff Deeler affixes a cybernetic arm equipped
with a tempered steel circular saw to his body.
Jack Saw is born.
He is soon assigned to close combat missions: his
rage and violence are devastating in direct contact. He is also
given many physically exhausting tasks like demolishing walls, cutting
wood, cutting doors out of existing walls, etc.
Saw's modifications prove so popular that a line
of cybernetic saw-equipped zombies is created.
Below is his character card (front
is healthy and backside is wounded) that gives you his stats. The
line on the bottom is the game's unique I.P.S. system. What the
icons below translates to is:
Jack Saw can use his saw- equipped
arm to cut through adjacent doors or walls. The wall or door to
be destroyed must be in his dark blue close combat arc. The two
IPS lines are to be considered as two different options from which
Jack Saw can choose.
For 1 CP, and without requiring any test or dice roll, Jack Saw
can destroy any adjacent door no matter its Defensive value. Remove
the destroyed door from the board, or flip it to its destroyed side
if it covers a single wall.
For 2 CPs, roll 6 yellow dice. If
10 or more hits are rolled, Jack destroys an adjacent wall. Place
a small wall-destroyed marker.
Also, check out his painted mini
(it has not yet been determined if pre-painted minis will come with
the game, but you can at least see the sculpture).

Lieutenant Monica Vasquez
Faction: NORAD
Age: 25
Monica Vasquez was awarded a medal of honor at the early age of
17. During her military training, her target shooting scores shattered
all previously held NORAD military records, regardless of gender.
She is now NORAD's elite sniper.
Her favorite sport is track. She systematically outruns her fellow
soldiers in every competition. Beyond her outstanding physical performance,
Vasquez is also highly educated and particularly well versed in
the fields of chemistry and medicine. Her extraordinary observation
skills and intuition make her an ideal scout in many situations.
She is naturally curious, quick on her feet, agile, yet able to
move silently, and is often assigned to important missions by the
NORAD high command.
In addition to this impressive resume, Vasquez soon discovers that
her attractive physique will give her a significant advantage when
dealing with some of the Salemites' more prurient abominations.
Below is her character card (front
is healthy and backside is wounded) that gives you her stats. The
line on the bottom is the game's unique I.P.S. system. What the
icons below translates to is:
When Vazquez is activated, if she
has line of sight to Franck Einstein, she can try to charm him and
take control of him. She has to spend 2 CPs (Command Points) and
roll 3 yellow dice. If she gets 5 or more successes, Franck becomes
a NORAD character until the end of the game. Note that when she
is wounded she has the same ability, but Franck takes more pity
on her and thus she only needs to spend 1 CP and succeeds on 3 or
more hits.
The other stats reflect her health,
armor, movement, varying melee combat strength depending on her
miniature's facing, plus her firing stat, the number of CPs she
is allowed to spend and how many she gives her player when in play.
Plus a few other things. It may seem like a lot but the game also
offers a tutorial pace - you only need to know a few things on the
left side of her card in the core rules. As you read more chapters,
you learn more rules (and new scenarios to use those new rules).
So by the time you are done with the rulebook, you will understand
the whole card.
